Deoghar: A 14-year-old boy was killed after a few miscreants hurled bombs at the residence of his maternal grandfather in Jharkhand's Deoghar.
It is learnt that the attack was carried by four assailants who were after the property of the victim's family.
According to the preliminary investigation, the attackers, who disguised themselves as 'babas', entered the house of Narayan Mahtha, the property owner in the morning.
Meanwhile, they tricked the family and hurled multiple bombs towards Narayan following which he and his grandson Raja sustained injuries.
They were rushed to a local hospital and Raja was declared dead while undergoing treatment.
The body of the deceased was sent for post mortem.
Narayan identified one of the assailants as Rajendra who was his rival and was after his property.
Victim's family alleged that they had earlier lodged an FIR against the Rajendra but no strict action was taken by the Rikhiya police station officials.
According to the police, the accused are absconding and a hunt is on to nab them. The entire area is under strict surveillance.
Police have taken a suspect into custody for further investigation into the matter.
