A medium-intensity earthquake of magnitude 3.5 hit Maharashtra's Palghar district. So far, no casualties have been reported.

Palghar (Maharashtra): An earthquake of 3.5 magnitude on the Ritcher scale hit Maharashtra's Palghar district at 2.50 am on Tuesday, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

No casualties and damage to property have been reported as of now.

Palghar district, especially its Dahanu and Talasari tehsils, has been witnessing low to moderate intensity earthquakes since November 2018.

Earlier, on September 6, a tremor of 3.2 magnitude hit Palghar district in Maharashtra.

Similarly, mild tremors hit Palgarh in Maharashtra from the night of September 4 till the early hours of September 5, the first earthquake of 4.0 magnitude was felt in Dahanu tehsil at 11.41 pm on September 4, while the second one of 3.6 magnitude was recorded at 12.05 am on September 5 in Talasari tehsil and the last one measuring 2.7 on Ritcher scale was recorded at 6.36 am, chief of Palghar district disaster control cell Vivekanand Kadam said.
