New Delhi: Asking migrant workers to remain at their "regular" place of work during the lockdown, the government in an advisory said that they will not be evacuated by their employer or landlord.
The advisory from the centre further stated that since many migrant workers have already either reached their destinations or moved towards them, health actions would be based on their current location.
In the case of a congregation of migrant workers in public places like bus and railway stations, the advisory said that the district health administration will depute a team which would include the District Surveillance Officer and public health personnel. Thermal screening of all such persons shall be done by this team, it added.
The advisory stated that persons suffering from fever with symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 shall be referred to designated COVID-19 treatment hospital for isolation and testing.

Those not exhibiting any such symptoms would undergo a risk profiling, and those above the age of 60 or having co-morbidities will be shifted to quarantine. Others would undergo home quarantine for 14 days.
In the second case, where migrant workers are on their way, quarantine centres will be set up. A record of all workers assigned to a particular quarantine facility shall be kept.
All quarantined persons will undergo daily medical examination for appearance of symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, and as in the earlier case, will be referred to the designated hospital if symptimatic.
If the person tests positive, all close contacts shall be segregated and tested as per ICMR testing guidelines.
In the case of migrant workers having already reached their destination, they will be identified by the district administration and IDSP teams will interview them about place of local residence.
