ETV bharat impact: Support grows for nail-free tree campaign

The campaign driven by young nature lovers is aimed at removing nails from trees and raise awareness among people about nature and its importance.

Bengaluru: Nail free tree campaign initiated by nature-lover Vinod has received massive support from youngsters in Bengaluru. ETV Bharat's report has also helped spread the word and many have turned up for the noble act.

Vinod, an employee of the Defense Research and Development Institute and his peers spearhead the campaign. Now, Kishore and cyber police officer Rajashekhar have also joined hands with them.

Many people have joined hands in removing all kinds of things on trees on KG road. They removed all sorts of nails, posters which hurts the trees. Vinod was struck by the pain trees would be suffering from nails, when accidentally he got pricked by a nail on a tree. So he began removing nails on trees and started the campaign.

Soon, his friends including Bharat, Santosh, Prajwal, Naveen and others joined hands for the nail removal campaign. The nails on trees in G-road, Indiranagar, Seshadripuram railway are removed, Vinod said. More than five volunteers would also join. The campaign which started in Sampangiram Nagar is aimed to spread awareness and increase participation.
