Mangalore (Karnataka): The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Mangalore airport recovered six pieces of unclaimed gold worth Rs. 33.80 lakhs.
According to the AIU at Mangalore airport, the gold was recovered inside an Indigo aircraft that arrived from Dubai on September 27.
"The Air Intelligence Unit officers found six pieces of gold weighing 671 grams, approximately valued at Rs. 33.80 lakh. The gold was found concealed in a pipe under a seat on September 2," an official statement issued by the AIU statement said.

Earlier, on September 5 AIU in Kerala has seized around 700 grams of gold concealed inside a pressure cooker from a passenger from Saudi Arabia's Jeddah at the Calicut Airport. The confiscated gold was worth Rs. 36 lakhs.
Similarly, on September 3, Anti-Corruption Bureau officials seized 1.5 kg gold ornaments worth Rs 57.6 lakhs from a bank locker of Keesara Tehsildar. The accused officer was arrested and remanded to Central Prison at Chanchalguda.
