Amravati: Whenever a person thinks about getting a new pet, a dog is the most natural choice. This young man's bad experience with pet his pet dog encouraged him to geta China sheep as his pet.
Rearing goats and sheep is usual but this keeping them as pets is not. For the same reason, this pet China sheep has become the talk of the town in Maharashtra's Amravati.
Vasim Singhaniya, hailing from Amravati had a pet dog at his home. But, after being bitten by his pet, he resolved to not keep any more pet dogs. The next idea that struck him was to keep a China sheep as his pet.
The love and affection for this sheep is similar to what he had for his pet dog. It has now become a family member for Vasim.
Vasim said: "The sheep has adapted itself to the climate here and luckily not fallen sick until now. She also eats fodder like any other sheep."
"When I had purchased her, her height was a mere six inches. She has now grown one and a half feet tall," he added.
Vasim also says that she recognises everyone in his joint family of 35 members.
The sheep had participated in an agricultural exhibition which was organized in the district where she became a centre of attraction for many visitors here.
This little sheep with white curly hair looks like a Teddy toy. It has a Chinese origin and was purchased online from Mumbai.
