Firozabad: One person was killed after a double-decker bus overturned on the Agra-Lucknow National Highway on Sunday. According to eyewitnesses, the bus which was on its way to Gujarat from Bihar lost control at a turn and hit the median before it overturned.
Reports said fire engulfed the bus after it crashed and the fire brigade reached the scene to put out the blaze.
The man who was killed was a passenger on the bus was identified as Vishnu Trishidev.
A police officer said the bus was carrying over 70 passengers and the incident happened at around 5 am near Nasirpur.
Many passengers and the crew suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. Local people broke the windshield of the bus to extract the wounded passengers.
Later a bus was arranged to ferry the passengers to their destination.
Police said an investigation has started to find out what caused the bus to crash.
