Barasat: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday broke open a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Naihati area of North 24 Parganas district and painted her party's name.
TMC party has claimed that it was their office which was captured by supporters of the newly elected BJP MP Arjun Singh, who had won from Barrackpore after defeating the TMC candidate, Dinesh Trivedi.
On May 30, when PM Narendra Modi was taking oath for his second term in office, Mamata Banerjee was protesting in Naihati area of North 24 Parganas district.
After addressing the gathering, Mamata Banerjee visited the BJP office that had the BJP symbol and party name painted on it and broke open its door to 'recapture' it. Mamata Banerjee used a painter's brush to paint in black the All India Trinamool Congress official party symbol over the saffron walls of the building.
