New Delhi: The All India Congress Committee had a major reshuffle on Friday, which turned out to be the biggest gain for team Rahul Gandhi as it got important positions in various groups of the grand old party.
While senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has been axed from the post of General Secretary in-charge of Haryana, the Chief Spokesperson and Rahul Gandhi loyalist Randeep Singh Surjewala has additionally got a post in the six-member committee formed to advise party chief Sonia Gandhi.
The demand to form an advisory panel was made by Sonia Gandhi during the CWC meeting. The other members of this Committee are AK Antony, Ahmed Patel, Ambika Soni, KC Venugopal and Mukul Wasnik.
Apart from Ghulam Nabi Azad, other senior leaders including Ambika Soni, Motilal Vohra, Luzenio Falerio and Mallikarjun Kharge also got sacked from the posts of General Secretary In-charge.
Jitin Prasada, who was one of the signatories of the 'dissent letter', has now been appointed as the General Secretary In-charge of West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
On the other hand, one of the members of Team Rahul, Lok Sabha MP Manickam Tagore, got the responsibility of Telangana and has also been deputed as the permanent invitee for Congress Working Committee.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will remain the General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, while Harish Rawat has been appointed as the General Secretary In-charge of Punjab.
Similarly Tariq Anwar for Kerala, Jitendra Singh for Assam, and Oommen Chandy for Andhra Pradesh.
New members of the Congress Working Committee are Digvijaya Singh, Rajiv Shukla, Pramod Tiwari, HK Patil, Jairam Ramesh, Salman Khurshid, Pawan Bansal, Dinesh Gundurao, Manish Chatrath and Kuljit Nagar.
Congress has also reconstituted the Central Election Authority which will now have Madhusudan Mistry as Chairman, and Rajesh Mishra, Krishna Byre Gowda, S Jothimani and Arvinder Singh Lovely as its members.
