BJP's Meenakshi Lekhi defended farm laws and said they were brought in to end farmers suicides in India. 

She said the fact that the world is now discussing the protest going on in India in the name of farmers instead of the Wuhan virus proves that there is stealth warfare going on against India.

Lekhi claimed that farmers' protest was a cocktail of Khalistanis, PFI and ISI agendas.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal said farmers have been given importance in scriptures and quotes Guru Nanak.

She said farmers from Punjab have been sitting in biting cold, at the borders of Delhi for 70-75 days with their demands. Everyone has seen how a peaceful democratic protest of unarmed protesters was met with "gola-barood", tear gas. Over a hundred farmers have lost their lives, she claimed and also attacked Punjab Chief Minister. 

She reiterated her demand to repeal the "black laws" and asked whether MSP is a bad thing.

Speaking about the farmers' issue in Lok Sabha, Farooq Abdullah said, "It's not a religious scripture that changes can't be made. If farmers want it to be repealed, why don't you talk to them? I request that let's not stand on prestige. It's our nation. We belong to this nation, let's respect everybody in the nation."

"The three agricultural laws are not made by God. If there are such widespread protests we must rethink" he added.

Govt should vaccinate max number of people: Farooq Abdullah

Farooq Abdullah of National Conference said that it is a fortunate thing that India has fewer coronavirus cases than the rest of the world of, but even then our medical services are not adequate.

"Our numbers are less than the US, UK and others. Still, we reported many deaths. Our medical services aren't that good that the cause of deaths can be ascertained in villages. Still, vaccines have been developed for which I congratulate those in Pune (SII)" he said. 

"It is essential to distribute these vaccines in India. Even now, very few people are getting vaccines. Efforts should be made to vaccinate the maximum number of people so that people can be protected from this disease," he added.

Amit Shah updates House on Uttarakhand situation

As many as 197 people are missing while 20 people have died due to floods in Uttarakhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah told the House.  

"All agencies of the Centre and State are monitoring the situation. A total of 450 jawans of ITBP, five teams of NDRF, eight teams of Indian Army, a Navy team and five helicopters of the Indian Air Force are engaged in search and rescue operation," he added.

New Delhi: Congress MPs from Punjab will move a private member's bill in Lok Sabha to repeal the three contentious new farm laws.

Congress leader and Lok Sabha member Manish Tewari told reporters that the Repealing and Amendment Bill 2021 will be moved in the Lower House by a group of party MPs from Punjab including himself, Preneet Kaur, Jasbir Singh Gill and Santokh Chaudhary.

Tewari said they will seek the support of fellow MPs from other parties who have sympathies for the farmers and support their stand on the new legislation.

Asked whether a similar bill could be introduced in Rajya Sabha, he said they will request their counterparts in the Upper House to do so.

For over two months now, thousands of farmers have been protesting at Delhi borders against the three farm sector reform laws which were enacted in September last year.
