Pune: Like many others, the corona-induced lockdown came as a blow to 24-year-old Priya Shilskar, a resident of Pune. A MBA graduate, Priya was working in a reputed private company but after the implementation of lockdown she was forced to quit her job as she had the onus to take care of her visually impaired mother.
A strong woman, Priya decided not to give up and start something on her own to earn her livelihood. Understanding the demand of cakes during this pandemic-triggered lockdown, she decided to bake cakes at home and deliver it according to the orders received.
Being responsible towards her family, Priya started her own small business of baking cakes and sold them. To her surprise, her hard work proved successful and she earned Rs one lakh with this business.
