Anti-China protests in north Bengal, Jinping's effigy burnt
Hundreds of people on Wednesday staged protests in different parts of north Bengal districts demanding justice for Indian Army jawans who were killed during the Indo-Chinese face off in Ladakh. Disgruntled residents also asked people to boycott Chinese products in protest of the violent attacks by the Chinese army along the borders. The protests took place in various pockets of Cooch Behar district and Siliguri where hundreds of people marched with posters and placards that read anti-China slogans. They also burnt the effigies of Chinese president Xi Jinping.
The rallies were organised by different political parties including the Congress.

Protestors in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi burned the Chinese flag and an effigy of the neighbouring country's President Xi Jinping after 20 Indian Army personnel lost their lives during a violent face-off with Chinese troops at the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. Demonstrators under the banner of an NGO Vishal Bharat Sansthan raised slogans against President Xi Jinping and shouted - "Go back from our county".

Hyderabad: Anti-China protests broke out in the country following the death of at least 20 Indian Army soldiers during a violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan area of Eastern Ladakh on Monday night.
On Tuesday, initial reports suggested that three Indian soldiers - one Commanding Officer and two jawans - were killed in the standoff with Chinese troops in Ladakh's Galwan Valley, but later, it was reported that at least 20 Indian Army jawans were killed in the same clash.
The incident follows rising tensions, and is the first deadly clash in the border area since 1975.
