New Delhi: Left parties on Monday staged a sit-in at the Jantar Mantar against the police action on anti-CAA and anti-NRC protestors over the past few weeks in the country.
Braving the biting cold, protestors reached Jantar Mantar to show solidarity with those injured in clashes between police and protestors across the country.
Holding anti-CAA, anti-NPR and anti-NRC placards, people raised slogans against police forces accusing them of committing "atrocities" on peaceful protestors.
While talking to ETV Bharat, National Secretary of the Communist Party, Atul Anjan attacking the Modi government said that even now the allies of the NDA government are speaking against the Citizenship Act and NRC.
He further stated that the government has shaken from inside due to the nationwide protests against CAA and NRC. The government is however not ready to listen to people. The CPI leader also targeted the RSS and Owaisi and said that the people of the country do not understand the policies that divide them.

While talking about the GDP, he said that the country's GDP has come down to 4.30 per cent and BJP leader Subramanian Swamy himself said that the GDP is currently less than 4.30 per cent.
The condition of the farmers in the country is bad, the economy is crumbling, the import-export is decreasing and the condition of the traders is also bad, instead of focusing on these issues, the pair of Modi and Shah are trying to divide the country on the basis of religion.
On behalf of the members, CPI National Secretary Atul Anjan called on all opposition parties to join the Bharat Bandh called by Left parties on 8 January and Stand in support against CAA and NRC.
All the left parties have shown solidarity and come together in opposition to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Act.
The protests in the country are also increasing, in such a situation, they are confident that the Bharat Bandh called on January 8, they will also get wide support from the public and other opposition parties and they will force Modi government to hear the demands of people.
