Kumudini Tyagi to operate helicopters from warship, family receives wishes in abundance

Family members of Sub Lieutenant Kumudini Tyagi are waiting to meet her eagerly after she got selected to join as Observers in the Indian Navy's helicopter stream. In an exclusive conversation with ETV Bharat, her family stated that she has made them proud.

Ghaziabad: For the first time in the history of the Indian Navy, two women officers have been deployed on the warship and with this Sub Lieutenant (SLt) Kumudini Tyagi got the opportunity to be one. Kumudini, from Ghaizabad's Sanjay Nagar, has been selected as Observer in the Indian Navy's helicopter fleet on Monday.

She has been selected to join as Airborne Tacticians in the Indian Navy's helicopter stream that would ultimately pave the way for women being posted in frontline warships.

Wishes have started pouring in as she has made the entire nation proud.

Her father Pravesh Tyagi, who is running a security agency, and mother Anjula Tyagi received numerous congratulatory calls and the family is eagerly waiting for their daughter's return.

In an exclusive interaction with ETV Bharat, her father told that she was a disciplined scholar since childhood and was a defence aspirant.

Kumudini completed her early studies from Rajnagar and passed her Inter from Patel Nagar.

"Kumudini'd hard work has finally paid off. Whatever responsibility will be given to her, she will fulfil it with complete sincerity," Pravesh Tyagi said.

On the other hand, her mother has been missing Kumudini as she last visited them one year back following which she joined academy for training.

"I am very excited and cannot wait until December to meet her. We have started all the preparations from now onwards. She has made all of us proud," her mother said.

Meanwhile, Kumudini's brother aspires to join the Indian Airforce to serve the nation just like her sister.

Sharing an adorable bond with her granddaughter, Kumudini's grandmother said that she will prepare her favourite dishes as she comes back.

Kumudini's family originally hails from Kharkhauda in Meerut. In 1985, the family moved to ​​Ghaziabad.

With her dedication and love towards the country, Kumudini has proved that Indian women are no way behind men and can achieve success in every aspect.
