Bengaluru (Karnataka): Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday formally launched the logo designed for its 'mass wedding' scheme.
The mass wedding ceremony will be organised between April 26 and May 24 this year, with the aim of serving those belonging to the economically weaker sections of society.
As per the state government guidelines, a couple can only avail the benefits of the scheme if both their parents attend the wedding.
The ceremony will be organised and financed by temples which fall under the Muzrai department.
Apart from organising the wedding ceremony, the temples will also provide eight grams of gold, along with cash worth Rs. 10, 000 to the bride and Rs. 5,000 to the groom.
