Konkan Railway to operate special trains for Ganesh Chaturthi

With Ganesh Chaturthi as one of the most sacred festivals celebrated in the Konkan region, the Konkan Railways in coordination with Central and Western Railways decided to operate a set of special trains to enable the passengers to commute for the festival. The train services across the country remain to be suspended in view of COVID19 lockdown measures.

Mumbai: Though train services continue to be suspended due to COVID19, Konkan Railway will operate a set of special trains enabling passengers to commute for the festival. The railway corporation in a statement mentioned that Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most sacred festivals celebrated in the Konkan region.

Considering the importance of the festival and keeping in mind the current scenario of Corona pandemic, Konkan Railway in co-ordination with Central Railway and Western Railway has decided to run Ganpati Special Trains between Mumbai CSMT/Lokmanya Tilak (T) and Ratnagiri/Sawantwadi Road/Kudal stations to clear extra rush of passengers.

According to the statement, Train Number 01107 Lokmanya Tilak (T) - Ratnagiri Daily Special will leave from Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 20.30 hrs from 15th to 22nd August 2020. Train will reach Ratnagiri at 04.00 hrs on the next day. Train Number 01108 Ratnagiri – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Daily Special will leave from Ratnagiri at 06.30 hrs from, 16th to 23rd August 2020. Train will reach Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 14.20 hrs on the same day. These trains will halt at Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, and Sangameshwar Road station.

Train Number 01105 Mumbai CSMT - Sawantwadi Road Daily Special will leave from Mumbai CSMT at 22.00 hrs from 15th to 22nd August 2020. Train will reach Sawantwadi Road at 08.10 hrs on the next day. Train Number 01106 Sawantwadi Road – Mumbai CSMT Daily Special will leave from Sawantwadi Road at 08.50 hrs from 16th to 23rd August 2020. Train will reach Mumbai CSMT at 20.05 hrs on the same day. These trains will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal station.

Train Number 01101 Mumbai CSMT - Sawantwadi Road Daily Special will leave from Mumbai CSMT at 23.05 hrs from 15th to 22nd August 2020. Train will reach Sawantwadi Road at 09.30 hrs on the next day. Train Number 01102 Sawantwadi Road – Mumbai CSMT Daily Special will leave from Sawantwadi Road at 10.10 hrs from 16th to 23rd August 2020. Train will reach Mumbai CSMT at 21.40 hrs on the same day. Trains will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal station.

Train Number 01103 Lokmanya Tilak (T) - Kudal Daily Special will leave from Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 23.50 hrs from 15th to 22nd August 2020. Train will reach Kudal at 10.30 hrs on the next day. Train Number 01104 Kudal – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Daily Special will leave from Kudal at 12.00 hrs from 16th to 23rd August 2020. Train will reach Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 23.00 hrs on the same day. These trains will halt at Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali and Sindhudurg station.

Train will reach Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 06.15 hrs on the next day. Train will reach Mumbai CSMT at 05.50 hrs on the next day. Train Number 09012 Sawantwadi Road – Bandra (T) Weekly AC Special on Special Fare will leave from Sawantwadi Road at 13.40 hrs on Monday, 24th & 31st August 2020. Train will reach Bandra (T) at 03.15 hrs on the next day. Trains will halt at Borivali, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilvade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal station.

Konkan railway announced that bookings for above trains will open at Passenger Reservation Systems (PRS) and IRCTC website.

All Passengers must adhere to travel guidelines by the Ministry of Health & Family welfare (MoHFW), Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) and SOP’s of Government of Maharashtra, the railway authorities urged.
