Wayanad(Kerala): Established in 1999, Thrissilery weaver’s village in Thirunelli Panchayat of Wayanad district is all set to become a tourist attraction with the implementation of its new projects. Weaver's village was established in Tirunelli to rehabilitate the unmarried tribal women and is an example of a blend of new generation flavour with the pure authentic cotton handloom collection giving it a more trendy, fashionable and distinct design.

The 14 acre land under Wayanad Weaving Co-operative Societies, which has 60 power looms and 20 handlooms, is planning to build an eco-park and villa in this village. With 60 weavers engaged in the handlooms including Adivasis, arrangements will be made for the tourists to visit the weaving units so that travellers can see and understand the pattern of hand weaving and handlooms. With the new projects coming in, it is expected that more foreign tourists are expected to visit the place, thus opening up more possibilities to explore the village. The new projects will be funded by Wayanad Weaving Co-operative Societies.
