Thrissur (Kerala): A woman was apprehended by Kerala police for throwing her one-year-old baby into the bushes.
The woman identified as Saraswathi is native of Kodungallur village of Kerala's Thrissur district.
The woman was found throwing her baby into the bushes near a village school.
Two students who saw her throwing the baby informed the locals about it.
The students also informed child helpline authority, panchayat officials and police.
The interrogation was being done by police after reaching the spot where she threw her child.
After rescuing the child, the police handed over the child to Saraswathi's brother.
Necessary steps were taken by police under the leadership of Anthikad Additional SI Manikandan to keep the child safe.
Police are further investigating the matter.
