Chamrajnagar (Karnataka): A young leopard on the prowl, which had entered into the residential area of Bargi Colony, triggering panic among the locals has been trapped by the Forest Department officials. The big cat had earlier strayed into the house and tried to kill the dog.

"When we learnt that the leopard strayed into the house of a local, we immediately got into action. I did not want to take any risk. We also contacted a vet and called him to the spot," said T Balchandra, forest official.

"Leopard fell into the trap that was set at Moolehole range on Sunday night. The feline fell into the cage," they added.
