Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday discussed over video conference regarding the transportation of migrant Odisha labourers from the state.

The two chief ministers were joined by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan via video conference mode and discussed the current status of migrant labourers.

The details of the workers, their health screening and quarantine system and other matters were also discussed.

Yediyurappa explained that all essential facilities like food, shelter and medical assistance were extended to the labourers during the lockdown period to ensure that the migrant labourers did not starve or suffer.

The two trains which are accommodating as many as 1,200 migrant workers will start its journey from Bengaluru today.
