Kanpur: With Yogi Aditynath facing opposition onslaught over the killing of eight policemen in an encounter, family members of the injured police personnel have also kept their demands to ensure their safety.

The younger brother of Ajay Kashyap, who was grievously injured in the gunbattle, has demanded that Yogi Adityanath government should provide the cops with latest arsenals to help them during such encounters. Ajay sustained severe injuries in the encounter and is undergoing treatment in a hospital. His condition is said to be stable.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Rahul Kashyap said, "Had the UP govt provided modernised weapons to the cops, this encounter would have been avoided. I urge the state government to provide arsenals to the cops who work selflessly to protect the nation. "
