New Delhi: Maharashtra politics took the nation by surprise when BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn as the Chief Minister for a second term, with Ajit Pawar as his deputy on penultimate Saturday.
Till yesterday Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress were forming Maharashtra government under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray, but political coup d'état, brought BJP back to power.
Reacting on the said events, JD(U) National Chief general secretary KC Tyagi said, "Shiv Sena and Congress were trying to carry out opportunistic politics in Maharashtra, but BJP showed intelligence."
"NDA's seats increased and Devendra Fadnavis became the Chief Minister," added Tyagi, wishing BJP well.
Tyagi said that whether Ajit Pawar took the decision with the consent of Sharad Pawar will be revealed only after 2-3 days, when a majority has to be proved or after the election of the Speaker.
"The ideology of Congress and Shiv Sena is different and they made the scenario that 'power' is everything. I wouldn't have been surprised if some people from their party become part of the government."
