Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi hit out at the United Nations (UN) for its silence on the matter and sought the intervention of the United States.
The former Pakistani skipper advocated for Kashmiris' due rights as guaranteed by the UN resolution. He said the unprovoked aggression, crimes being committed in Kashmir must be noted.

Rajasthan minister Ashok Chandna today welcomed the Centre's decision to abrogate provisions of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, adding to the list of Congress leaders who have ditched the party line of opposing the move.
Chandana, the state youth affairs and sports minister, however said that it was his personal view.
"It is my personal view. Abrogating Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir is the first decision of the government, which I welcome," he tweeted.
"...But implementation of abrogating Article 370 should be done peacefully and in the environment of trust instead of dictatorial. It should be disposed peacefully so that no citizen of the country face any problem in the future," he added.

Detained at home; 'dictatorial' authority invoked in J-K: Farooq Abdullah
National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said that he has been put under house arrest, asserting that a "dictatorial" authority has been invoked and not a "democratic" one in Jammu and Kahmir.
In an emotional outburst, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said he "broke the door" to come out and speak to the media.
Emphasising that the guarantee of the Article370 was in India's Constitution, he said,"dictatorial authority has been invoked and not a democratic authority that we thought they will invoke. Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah on Monday announced in the Rajya Sabha that Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is to be abrogated under the Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 2019 signed by President Ram Nath Kovind. Gazette Notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice suggesting the modification of Article 370
Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah on Monday announced in the Rajya Sabha that Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is to be abrogated under the Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 2019 signed by President Ram Nath Kovind. This Gazette Notification states that, "[Constitution Order] shall come into force at once, and shall thereupon supersede [Article 370] as amended from time to time."

New Delhi: Centre on Monday modified the Article 370, that grants special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress leader Dr Karan Singh refused to talk to the media citing 'personal reasons' after Union minister Amit Shah addressed the Parliament amid ruckus.
Shah proposed to bifurcate the state into two separate Union Terretories- Jammu and Kashmir, with a legislature and Ladakh without a legislature.
