New Delhi: The Janata Dal (United) on Wednesday announced that it would contest the Delhi Assembly elections due next year with full strength.
"We will try to contest on all 70 assembly seats. The party is ready with its workers, who have been actively working among the people of the city," JD(U) Delhi president Dayanand Rai told ETV Bharat here.
He further said that Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar would interact with over 3500 party workers in a programme at Badarpur constituency of Delhi.
On being asked if his party would be able to face BJP and the ruling AAP in the national capital, he said: "AAP was nowhere and BJP can be fought against".
"We will try to field our candidates from all assembly seats but 23 seats, where 'people of eastern region' are in large numbers, we will certainly field JD(U) candidates," he added.
Safe drinking water, pollution, safety and security of women, unauthorized colonies among others would be the major issues that the party would focus on, he further added.
