J&K: 2 soldiers succumb to injuries sustained during ceasefire violation by Pak

A day after sustaining injury in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan, two Indian Army jawans were martyred on Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Two soldiers, who were injured in firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, succumbed in Srinagar on Saturday, a defence spokesman said.

"Unfortunately, two soldiers have succumbed to their injuries," defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.

The Army salutes their supreme sacrifice, he said.

The martyred soldiers have been identified as Havaldar Gokaran Singh and Naik Shankar S P Coy, both belonging to the Kumaon regiment.

Three soldiers and three civilians, including a four-year-old boy, were injured on Friday when Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in Rampur Sector in Baramulla in north Kashmir.
