New Delhi: The foundation stone laying ceremony of Ramlala's Temple in Ayodhya, which was performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been marked as an extraordinary experience not only for the BJP leaders but also for all the Ram devotees across the nation. The event not only has social and religious importance but will be remembered for its political significance too.
BJP has given all the credit for this auspicious occasion to the Prime Minister that's why there were no cutouts of the Hindutva leaders of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. PM Modi has also been compared as to the only symbol of the Ram Temple.
The resolution of the construction of the grand Ram Temple, which has been the constant refrain in BJP’s election manifesto, is finally getting fulfilled during the regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and this will immensely benefit the party in the near future.
The issue of Ram Temple was always raised by the BJP and other political parties before every election.
Ahead of the 2024 polls, BJP is now trying to create a new history.
The main leaders of the Ram Temple agitation including Lal Krishna Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi and Vinay Katiyar were not invited for the foundation stone laying ceremony, even their cutouts remained absent across the holy city.
While RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat did mention the name of Advani from the podium by saying that one cannot forget those who could not attend the function. This appears to have been a lame excuse because Mohan Bhagwat, being over 70 years of age, also should not have attended a public function in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic which was applicable to Advani and Joshi.

The temple is expected to be completed in three years which coincides with the last phase of the BJP government’s term. Thus, the BJP has also cleared its agenda for the 2024 elections.
During his speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not even mention the contribution of Lal Krishna Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple agitation. This is a clear indication that all the old poll promises of BJP are being fulfilled during the Modi-Shah regime and the party currently wants to give full credit to the Prime Minister.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank said, "Lord Ram is ideal not only for the society but also for the public. He is a symbol of a good ruler, a good man and a good individual. What the Prime Minister said today was wonderful and heavenly. Everyone should apply to their life what the Prime Minister said. This is a historic moment which was possible because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm confidence."
BJP’s national spokesman Sudesh Verma said that the 'Bhoomi-poojan' of the glorious temple of Shri Ram done by Prime Minister Modi was a historic moment.
"For all the Hindus in India, Shri Ram is God. But for also those who had changed their religion Shri Ram is their ancestor. When one talks about Ram Rajya it is about good governance and equality. All this is included in the ideals of Shri Ram. It is not proper to say that the BJP is trying to take political advantage. The temple of Shri Ram should be seen above politics. The BJP does what the countrymen want. India is known in the world for its strong defence system. While Advani, Joshi and Sadhvi Ritambhara all had given their cooperation. As Advani said that his dream has been fulfilled he has been providing guidance to the party. We all look up at him and there is no such controversy worth discussion." Verma added.
