New Delhi: After Indian forces had face-offs with Chinese forces in northern Sikkim and in eastern Ladakh earlier this week, retired Brigadier and defence expert Kuldeep Singh Kahlon said that the country needs a Parliamentary expert committee to deal with the prevailing situation.
Recently, face-offs between Chinese People's Liberation Army troops and Indian troops along with Line of Actual Control (LAC) have been witnessed by the defence forces.
In an exclusive chat with ETV Bharat, retired Brigadier said, "This is not a new case where Chinese Army troops have come face to face with the Indian troops. These are the regular exercise maintained by Chinese troops."
He further maintained that the Chinese officials are using Pakistan as a 'tool' to fight with India. That is the reason they are building the China- Pakistan economic corridor.
"In the disputed Pangong Tso lake, Chinese troops had captured some area of the Indian region during the war of 1962. Now, they are claiming more region of India as their own. Therefore, there is always a stand-off condition in the LAC region."
"As far the situation in northern borders is concerned, LAC is not very well defined. There are different perceptions where the LAC runs. Accordingly, both sides patrol up to their accepted claimed lines and, therefore, when patrols reach at the same place and at the same time such face-offs do occur. They have occurred in the past and there is nothing new in what has happened in last week or ten days," defence expert said.
"It is just a matter of chance that the face-off in eastern Ladakh happened during the same period but we should not read too much into this that this is part of some coordinated plan. There is nothing like that... But we will deal with it as per the protocol which has been laid out between the two countries and in accordance with strategic guidelines," he said.
The prevailing condition can be solved if the Chinese officials held a formal talk with Indian officials. But, the fact lies they never want to solve the issue and have always desire to capture the region owned by India, added Kahlon.
The defence expert further claimed that the government should take the advice from the parliamentary committee of defence and must increase the defence budget to boost the morale of the armed forces of our country.
