New Delhi: Indian Seed Congress(ISC), an annual flagship event organised by the National Seed Association of India kickstarted on 15 February in the national capital. The two-day long event was inaugurated on Sunday by Secretary of Agriculture, Sanjay Agrawal.
Addressing the gathering of delegates, Secretary of Agriculture Sanjay Agarwal assured that each and every concern and issues related to the industry will be resolved thoroughly. He also announced that the regulations on export of seeds will be eased and industry stakeholders will be benefited from this.

Further, he added that the Seed Bill is going to be tabled in the parliament soon, the bill will take care of all agricultural concerns of farmers as well as the industry as a whole.
Additional Secretary Agriculture, Ashwini Kumar said that the Ministry will take care of all the issues of the farmers in the bill that is under the planning process. The bill is likely to be introduced in the winter session of the parliament.
Prabhakar Rao, President of NSAI said that apart from the latest trends and views of the seed sector, Indian Seed Congress voices the concerns of industry and also delivers on new technological advances to tackle obstacles acting as a hindrance in the growth.
