Indian Army to induct Artificial Intelligence: Lt General Kler

Indian army would soon have Artificial Intelligence added into its formations. It was overdue and being done to modernise the force.

“The Indian Army will start using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the next two to three years for constructive and destructive purposes. It will be used first in the mechanised forces," Army's South Western Army Commander Lt General Alok Kler said.

"Army has been working to incorporate new-age technology under a roadmap," he said, adding that information is intelligence and we have to be aware of its disruptive use in mind. We have taken a very large step to fill the gap in military requirements.

New Delhi: Indian Army will introduce some constructive and disruptive Artificial intelligence in the next two to three years, said GoC in C South Western command Lt. General Alok Kler.

Army's South Western command on Wednesday organised a seminar on Artificial intelligence along with wartech exhibition at Hisar military station. Academicians, industry people also expressed their opinion during the seminar.

General Kler speaking to reporters said, Indian Army will induct constructive and disruptive artificial intelligence technologies in next two years and the first user will be in mechanised warfare, involving tanks and infantry combat vehicles.

An exhibition 'Sapta Shakti' Wartech was also organised as part of the event having a tagline -- 'Empowering the Future Soldier' -- to bring together Army and the defence industry under one roof with an aim to synergise Army's aspirations and the efforts of the industry.Body:Kindly use.Conclusion:
