New Delhi: In a bid to close the geographical and knowledge gap with European countries, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal during his address at the fifth India-Europe 29 Business Forum called for the strengthening of the economic partnership between both regions.
Union Commerce Minister also pointed out that both India and Europe have complementary economies that can work together in areas such as smart cities, renewable energy, startups, information, and technology.
He even went on to claim that India can offer skilled manpower to these European countries.
"India and Europe have very strong historical and cultural connect and capitalise on this to develop a strong economic partnership. E29 region could be a gateway for Indian products to the wider European Market," Piyush Goyal said.
Participating in the Business Forum, Bulgaria's Deputy PM for Economic and Demographic Policy, Mariyana Nikolova invited Indian corporates claiming that it has the lowest tax rates (10%) in entire Europe.
She emphasised for cooperation in sectors like pharmaceuticals, chemicals, machinery, agriculture and food processing.
