Narsinghpur: Union Minister of State for Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste on Wednesday said that India is in a better position than other countries in the world while dealing with the perils of coronavirus.

In a special interview with ETV Bharat, Singh talked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to overcome the ongoing pandemic. "Due to the willpower of our Prime Minister, we are in a better position than many other countries," said Singh.

Talking about Modi's mantra of making India self-reliant, Singh said that the unprecedented bold step taken by the Modi government can be viewed as an example by other countries.

"Our PM has given a relief amounting to Rs 20 lakh crores. No country has given such a huge amount as relief in any disaster till date," Singh said.

He also said that the Central Government is concerned about the health of every citizen of the country.

"Arrangements are being made to send migrant workers back to their states. Around 80 crore people in the country hold BPL cards, they have been given three months ration. In the coming adverse circumstances, the government will announce more such relief," said Singh.

The Union Minister also informed that financial relief packages for industries have also been announced, in order to improve the economy and necessary actions will be taken as per requirements and needs of different sectors.

"Narendra Modi has prepared a grand package of Rs 40,000 crores for the industrial businesses, farmers, poor and workers of the country. People of all classes will benefit from it and the country will recover from the financial crisis," added Singh.
