Hyderabad: India on Friday logged 64,553 Covid-19 new positive cases, which pushed the overall tally to over 2.4 million, according to the Health Ministry's data.
As many as 1,007 people succumbed to the infection, which took the overall death toll to over 48,000.
More than 1.7 million people in India have recovered from Covid-19 so far and the overall recovery rate has crossed 71%.
On Wednesday, the country tested more than 800,000 people for the infection, moving closer to the target of conduction a million tests per day.
