New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan did not shy away from raking up the Kashmir bogey and accusing the Modi administration of bloodbath in Kashmir, in his first address to the United Nations General Assembly at its 74th session.

Lashing out at Imran Khan, the former envoy said, "Whatever the Pakistani PM talked about in his speech at UNGA was nowhere closer to the objectives of UN."

"Imran Khan was very belligerent. He appeared to support terrorism when he talked about Islamophobia," he added.

Malhotra described the 'Nuclear war' threat as the worst part of the Pakistani PM's speech.

Applauding PM Modi's speech which ended within the prescribed time limit of 15 minutes, Malhotra said that the PM spoke briefly, crisply but each and every issue he dwelt upon had a broad global dimension.

"Even when he talked about 'Swach Bharat' and other programmes which prima facie appeared to be domestic but in larger context, it actually linked to the sustainable development goals," the former envoy said.

"This was a statement coming from a leader whose status is now global and who thinks in terms of global issues," Malhotra hailed PM Modi.

The former envoy also appreciated the Indian First Secretary Vidisha Maitra for using the right to reply in a stunning manner.

"The lady raised some very valid questions to Imran Khan exposing Pakistan to the rest of the world," he said.

Intro:New Delhi: The 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly was also not left untouched by the ongoing India and Pakistan conflict. While Indian PM urged the world to unite against the threat of terrorism, Pakistan PM didn't shy away from raking up the Kashmir bogey and accusing Modi administration of bloodbath in Kashmir.

Body:In his exclusive to ETV Bharat, former diplomat Achal Malhotra came down heavily on Pakistani PM Imran Khan for misusing the United Nations platform for spreading a fake narrative.

'Imran Khan was very belligerent. He talked about Islamophobia by which he meant that Islam is on one side and rest of the world is on the other side which is not true at all. Look what is happening in Iraq and Syria where Shias are fighting Sunnis,' said former envoy.

Applauding PM Modi's speech which ended within the proscribed time limit and talked about a global vision for which the UN platform is meant for.

Conclusion:Acknowledging India's right to reply at the UN in which first Secretary Vidisha Maitra gave a point by point rebuttal to Imran Khan's accusations and nuclear threat. She claimed that it reflected a medieval mindset of the Pakistani PM not a 21st century vision.

She reminded Imran Khan about the human rights abuses which Pakistani leadership unleashed in West Pakistan aka Bangladesh in 1971. She reminded Imran Khan of the shrinking size of minorities in Pakistan which now stands 3% while it was 23% in 1947.
