1. PM Modi to lay foundation stone of AIIMS Rajkot today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Rajkot in Gujarat on Thursday via video conferencing.
Giving the information, the Prime Minister tweeted, "At 11 AM tomorrow, December 31, will lay the foundation stone of AIIMS, Rajkot. This project will improve the healthcare infrastructure in Gujarat." As per an official statement, 201 acres of land has been provided by the government for the project.
The foundation laying ceremony will also be attended by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, and Union Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
2. CBSE to announce Class 10, 12 boards 2021 exam dates today
Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Wednesday said that the dates for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and Class 12 will be announced on December 31. Moreover, the Board would not conduct the CBSE board exams online adding that exams will be held physically with adherence to all the COVID-19 norms and protocols.
3. Farmers' protest to continue
Making headway in talks for the first time since farmers opposed to the new agriculture laws showed up at the gates of Delhi more than a month ago, the Centre Wednesday said there had been “mutual consensus” on two of the four demands raised by the farmer unions. The two sides agreed to meet again on January 4.
