1. PM Modi to inaugurate VAIBHAV Summit today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today inaugurate the 'VAIBHAV Summit' -- a platform which brings together overseas and resident Indian researchers and academicians. The aim of the summit is to bring Indian-origin luminaries in academic institutes and research organisations across the world and resident counterparts on a single platform to debate upon collaboration mechanisms to strengthen academic and science and technology (S&T) base in India for global development.

2. 48-day long series of webinars on Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts to start from today

The Ministry of AYUSH announced that a 48-day-long series of webinars will start from today, which is the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, to rekindle the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts on health and nutrition. The webinar will be held from 11 AM to 12 noon every day.

3. Railways to operate seven special trains from today

The Railway Board (RB) has approved seven fully reserved special trains, including three inter-state trains connecting Chennai, to destinations within and outside Tamil Nadu. Train no 02631/02632 comprising an AC tier-II, five AC tier-III, 11 sleeper class and three general second class coaches would start from Egmore to Tirunelveli from today.

4. Madhya Pradesh to observe prohibition week from today

Prohibition Week would be observed in the Madhya Pradesh from today (the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi) to October 8. The week is observed with an objective to create public awareness against the use of intoxicants and drugs.

5. Rajasthan CM to launch public movement against Coronavirus today

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot called upon all stakeholders to make the ‘Public Movement Against Corona’ starting from today successful. Gehlot said that it is the duty of everyone to save the lives of people from the coronavirus infection.
