1. Parliament's monsoon session begins today
The Parliament's Monsoon session 2020 will begin Monday and is scheduled to conclude on October 1. Forty-five bills and two financial items will be taken up during the 18 sittings of the session.
2. RS to Elect Deputy Chairman on today, Govt to introduce 4 ordinances
The Rajya Sabha, on the first day of the Monsoon session on Monday, will elect its Deputy Chairman, with NDA's Harivansh Narayan Singh and RJD's Manoj Jha in the fray for the post.
For the ruling National Democratic Alliance, BJP chief J.P. Nadda will move the first motion in support of Singh while Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad will move the first motion from the opposition, and voting may take place if required.
3. Delhi: Gyms, yoga institutes set to reopen today
Gyms and yoga institutions in Delhi have been allowed to resume services from Monday.
After being shut for over 4 months due to coronavirus pandemic, the Delhi government has allowed the gyms and yoga institutes to reopen Monday.
In a fresh notification, the gyms and yoga institutes have been allowed to operate under Covid-19 guidelines. However, all gyms and yoga institutes under containment zones will remain closed.
According to the order, weekly markets have also been allowed on a trial basis till September 30 under 'Unlock-4'.
4. Widespread rainfall likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana
