1. Home Minister Amit Shah to participate in tree plantation drive of CAPFs
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Central Reserve Police Force officers' training academy in Gurgaon's Kadarpur village today. He will participate in a mega tree plantation drive of the Central Armed Police Forces. The chiefs and some personnel of the five CAPFs and other central forces will be present during the event, and the home minister will address them.
2. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to allocate portfolios to new inductees
Nine days after they were inducted into the Madhya Pradesh cabinet, 28 ministers will finally get portfolios on Sunday.
The delay in assigning ministries had triggered speculations about an internecine conflict in the ruling BJP over accommodating loyalists of Jyotiraditya Scindia, whose exit from the Congress along with 22 MLAs led to the collapse of Kamal Nath-led government in March this year, in the cabinet.
3. Kerala Gold smuggling case: Swapna Suresh to be produced before NIA office today
Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair, key accused in the gold smuggling case, will be produced at the NIA office in Kochi today. The National Investigation Agency had detained the duo from Bengaluru on Saturday.
4. Lockdown to be implemented every Sunday from today in Indore
In view of the sudden spike in coronavirus cases in the city, the Indore district administration has issued an order for complete lockdown in the entire district for 24 hours on every Sunday from July 12 till further orders. The number of coronavirus patients in Indore has increased once again after several days. So far, less than 50 patients were getting infected due to the lethal virus every day, while according to the report late last night, 89 new positive cases were found.
5. Lockdown in Guwahati may be extended for another week
The Assam government is likely to extend the lockdown in the Kamrup (Metro) district for one more week after the 14-day shutdown ends on Sunday.
"The Chief Secretary as the Chairman of the executive committee of the disaster management in consultation with the citizens' forum and MLAs of the Kamrup (Metro) district would take the decision on the extension.
6. Spicejet to operate flights to UAE between July 12-26
Private airline SpiceJet will operate flights from across 4 stations in India to Ras Al-Khaimah (Dubai) between 12 and 26 July for eligible 'Identity and Citizenship (ICA) approved UAE residents'.
A person with a valid residency needs to take ICA (UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship) approval before taking any flight to enter that country.SpiceJet will operate flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kozhikode and Kochi to the UAE. From the Ras Al-Khaimah airport, they will also be providing coaches, free of cost, for passengers travelling to Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
