1. CDS General Bipin Rawat is likely to visit Leh today
Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat is scheduled to visit Leh today. He will be briefed on the present situation in the Eastern Ladakh sector by the 14 Corps, sources said. General Bipin Rawat's visit comes in the wake of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's own visit to Ladakh being rescheduled at the last minute. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was scheduled to visit Ladakh on Friday to review the preparedness of the armed forces amid the ongoing standoff with China.
2. Sports Minister Rijiju, Sindhu and Chhetri to launch Fit India Talks
The government of India's flagship program Fit India announced that it is launching a series of interactive sessions with some of the top sportspersons of our country intended to inspire the school children. The Fit India Talks sessions are being organized in association with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
The sessions, titled Fit India Talks, premieres today in the presence of Union Minister of Human Resource Development Dr R.P. Nishank, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju as well as badminton star P.V. Sindhu and Indian football team skipper Sunil Chhetri.
3. Hardeep Singh Puri to launch Swachh Survekshan 2021
Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State (I/C) for Housing and Urban Affairs, will launch the Swachh Survekshan 2021 (SS 2021), the sixth edition of the annual cleanliness survey. The event will be a virtual launch considering the COVID-19 restrictions in place to contain the virus.
