With the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic looming large, International Day of Yoga will be celebrated digitally for the first time since June 21, 2015. This year's theme is 'Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family'. Meanwhile, a rare celestial event, annular solar eclipse, which is popularly known as the 'ring of fire' eclipse, will be visible today in India.

1. International Yoga Day to be celebrated across the world today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on the occasion of International Yoga Day today. Earlier his address was scheduled at Leh, as per the plans made before the pandemic outbreak, but now he will address the country from the national capital itself. Amid the Coronavirus induced lockdown, this year, due to social distancing measures, the theme set by the United Nations is 'Yoga for Health – Yoga at Home'.

2. 'Ring of fire' eclipse to be seen in India today

A rare celestial event, annular solar eclipse, which is popularly known as the 'ring of fire' eclipse, will be visible today in India. The country is set to witness its 'deepest' annular solar eclipse of this century today. The celestial event will be visible in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttarakhand.

3. BJP's Jan Samwad Rally in Uttar Pradesh

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president J P Nadda will address a Jan Samwad Rally in Uttar Pradesh today. Nadda will address the virtual rally in New Delhi. He is likely to speak on the achievements of the Modi government. Party’s general secretary Sunil Bansal and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will take part in this rally from Lucknow.
