Balouda Bazar: Residents of Bailagarh had a sigh of relief when the health department came to solve their woes after the news impact of ETV Bharat. The common pond of the village was polluted allegedly by a fish farmer with chemicals which created problems for people. The health department reached the village and looked into the matter.
Villagers had complained of skin allergies and irritation after the incident. The health department took action on the matter after ETV Bharat approached the officials.
About 36 people have complained of boils and scabies in the village. Along with Anganwadi workers, a team of doctors is treating villagers who complained of problems. A camp has been set up by the health department.
A fish farmer, Pappu Khan was given a contract for five years to breed fishes in the pond. But according to the villagers, Khan was using chemicals which affected the villagers who accessed the pond.
The health department has treated the diseases of the villagers, but the villagers are not satisfied with it. They want authorities to take action against the accused fish contractor.
