Delhi: Human Resource Development Ministry on Thursday organised a special programme on International Mother Language Day where Vice President Venkaiah Naidu graced the function as a chief guest.
Addressing the gathering of students, Venkaiah Naidu said that one should never forget their mother tongue and the place one hails from because it helps a person grow and achieve success in life.

In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat Minister of State for Human Resource Development Sanjay Dhotre said "I would like to refer to Kalam who was infinitely dedicated to his mother tongue and emphasised its importance in everyday life".
He further said that its very important that we all understand how significant our mother tongues are. Moreover, he added that Hindi native speakers are more in numbers and hence it should be considered a national language.
Various schools across the country will celebrate International Mother Language Day on Friday.
