New Delhi: Home Secretary on Thursday has called a meeting with senior ministry official to discuss the Popular Front of India (PFI) issue.
The Popular Front of India is an extremist and militant Islamic fundamentalist organisation in India formed as a successor to National Development Front in 2006.
The investigating agencies are probing the source of funds that were allegedly used to fuel the anti-CAA stir in the country and it has submitted a sealed cover report to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
According to the sources, the director of ED, DG NIA and top brass of all other central law enforcing agencies are present in the meeting.
Popular Front of India (PFI), which is under the scanner for alleged anti-national activities and fanning violence during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests in a couple of states including Uttar Pradesh, has its headquarters in Shaheen Bagh in Delhi, where hundreds of millions of rupees are deposited for funding its activities, said an ED official privy to the agency’s investigation into the organization.
The sensational revelations come on the last day of campaigning for Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for Saturday.
