Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Cabinet has decided to announce the minimum price for 16 vegetables in the state.
The price would come into effect from November 1.
Kerala would be the first state in the country to fix the minimum price for 16 varieties of vegetables.
With this, even if the price of vegetables goes down, farmers would not lose out.
Vegetable would be procured through 550 centres.
The Department of Agriculture and the Department of Co-operation would jointly procure the vegetables.
