Gonda: Woman delivers child on train

A woman travelling from Mumbai to Gorakhpur delivered a baby girl on the train. She started experiencing labour pains and the RPF personnel present on the train with the help of fellow women passengers helped her to deliver the child.

Gonda (Uttar Pradesh): A woman delivered a baby girl while travelling on a train from Mumbai to Gorakhpur. The incident took place when the woman suddenly started experiencing labour pains.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel present on the train with the help of the women passengers helped the woman to deliver the child.

RPF Inspector Praveen Kumar said that a woman travelling in Train No. 19039 Avadh Express (Mumbai to Gorakhpur) started experiencing labour pains, when between Badshah Nagar to Gomtinagar. "RPF personnel present on the train helped the woman to deliver the child with the help of fellow women passengers," he added.

As soon as the train reached Gonda, the female doctor checked her and she was admitted to the District Women's Hospital for treatment.
