''The SHO arrived and told the agitators to move but Congress councillor said that even if we die, we will not move from here. We want freedom at any cost no matter what the police says. Ishrat told the mob to attack the police with stones so that they would run away," said the sub-inspector.
''The protestors started stone-pelting and a bullet was fired on sergeant Yograj. Seeing the situation getting out of control, police started firing tear gas shells and soldier Vinod Kumar was also injured," said the FIR.
However, SI Mamta Chauhan caught Ishrat Jahan from the spot. A case has been registered against Ishrat Jahan under the provisions of Arms Act and for inciting violence. According to the police sources, Jahan was produced before the court after which she was sent to jail.
