The murders were over minor disputes and personal vendetta. Police have arrested three people while 12 others are on the run.

Ahmedabad: Five murders have been reported in Ahmedabad city in a time span of 48 hours. The crimes took place at Nikol, Meghaninagar, Dariapur, Ghatlodia and Sheherkotda localities.

A physically challenged young man, Manga, was murdered by his friend Kamal Marwadi on August 12 and later his body was buried. After the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Another young man Ketan Dikshit was murdered in broad daylight at a public place in Meghaninagar. After a brawl over a minor issue, the accused, Tejas, had stabbed the victim with a knife on his shoulder. Ketan was rushed to hospital where he died. The accused is absconding.

On August 14, at around 10 PM, a youth named Ashraf Khan was murdered over a scuffle about money transaction. Ashraf and his friend had gone to demand money he had lent to a borrower. They were peacefully negotiating when suddenly the accused Sajid appeared on the scene and attacked Ashraf and his friend with a knife. Ashraf died at the spot while his friend was injured in the hands. Police have arrested the accused.

The body of Nikhil Suryavanshi was discovered from a residential flat of Sasita Apartment in Thakorewas area of Memnagar under the jurisdiction of Ghatlodia police station. His body was found tied with a rope. The man originally belonged to Dwarka and was physically challenged. The murder accused is still at large.

In Shaherkotda, a man killed his wife by stabbing her with a knife on her neck. The victim, Rajashri and her son were staying with her parents when her husband came to meet her. There was an altercation between the husband and wife when he stabbed her. Rajashri’s husband Shailesh has been arrested.

All five murders took place in the city during a period of 48 hours. All the murders were over minor disputes and personal vendetta. Police have arrested three accused while 12 accused are still absconding.
