West Bengal: In Digha, the Koi Bhola fish weighing 250 kilos was sold for around one lakh rupees. Large numbers of people gathered to see a glance of the fish including tourists and local residents.
On Sunday afternoon, a company called SFT bought the fish for a huge some of around one lakh rupees. The fish weighed about two and a half quintals.
On Saturday, a fisherman caught the fish in Orissa. It was then brought to Digha's Bhuban Bera BCB arena for sale.
Shamsundar Das, the editor of the Digha Shankarpur Fish Trades Association, said this rare species of fish has been reported to be in demand overseas, earlier this species of small fish were caught but for the first time, such a large fish of this species was seen.
