Gandhinagar: After the unveiling of the Statue of Unity at Kevadia Colony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that important meetings and works related to nation-building would be held on the premises. As per the prime minister's announcement, the maiden edition of speakers' conference will be organised from November 24 to November 26.
Speakers and Secretaries of the legislative assemblies from all the states of the country will be present at the speakers' conference. The conference will discuss the functioning and proceedings in legislative assemblies.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will preside over the event. According to sources, speakers from all state legislative assemblies have confirmed their participation. Modi will address the conference through video conferencing.
President Ramnath Kovind likely to inaugurate
The speakers' conference is likely to be inaugurated by President Ramnath Kovind. The attendees will also be given a tour of the Statue of Unity on November 26.
It is learned that the Gujarat government will bear all the expenses of the speakers' conference.
