First cured patient discharged from Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre and Hospital

Amid a spike in coronavirus cases across the nation, the first cured COVID-19 patient was discharged from the world's largest 10,000-bed facility on Monday. Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre is dedicated to treating COVID-19 patients who have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic.

New Delhi: The first cured patient was discharged on Monday from Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre, Radha Soami Beas, Chhatarpur here, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) said.

A total of 147 positive patients have been admitted to the centre till date.

As per the tweet by ITBP's official handle, "The first COVID-19 patient discharged today from Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre and Hospital, Radha Soami Beas, Chhatarpur, New Delhi. Anand Swaroop, IG with a team of ITBP officials presented a rose to the cured."

The tweet was accompanied by a video which showed the cured patient was present with a rose and a goody bag while exiting the facility.

World's largest, 10,000-bed Sardar Patel's COVID Care Centre and Hospital (SPCCCH) at Radha Soami Satsang Beas in Chhatarpur area was made operational in the national capital. Radha Soami Satsang Beas is located at Bhati Mines Chhatarpur in South Delhi. There is a large courtyard of 1700 × 700 square feet inside the Satsang complex.

Radha Soami Satsang has been established here for a long time. But now it is known as the world's largest COVID Care Center. The entire courtyard has now been converted into a 10,000-bed Sardar Patel COVID Care Center, where patients with mild symptoms of the coronavirus are being treated.

It was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on July 6. Earlier on June 27, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also visited the newly created centre.
