Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced Rs 5 Lakh compensation for those killed in the hotel fire.
The fire took place around four in the morning at the top floor of the building, but soon it transpired to other floors as well.
Balan Mani, Delhi Hotel Association, Vice President said, "It was due to fire in ducting because of which it had spread to the hotel rooms. All norms were followed here; license is issued only after inspection. Mishappening can occur in a house as well."
One of the paramedics said the two people jumped from the building and one of them died midway to hospital. The rescue operation is still on
Sunil Choudhary, Deputy Chief, Fire Officer said, "Fire has been doused off. Bodies are being taken out now."
20 fire tenders rushed to spot to douse the flames.
